The PRCA AGM held on 28 February 2019 saw the appointment of Mari O’Leary, FPRII, MD of O’Leary PR & Marketing as the trade organisation’s Chair. She takes over from Rhona Blake, FPRII, MD of FleishmanHillard.

Mari has run her own successful agency for the past 25 years and has been a member of the PRCA for almost the duration. She has extensive experience in the corporate, consumer and lifestyle sectors, working with both multi-national and indigenous companies. Former Chair Rhona Blake emphasised the value of having a person from an independent agency who can bring the perspective of the smaller and mid-size consultancy to the PRCA.

Mari has served on the PRCA board since 2016 and was Treasurer & Company Secretary for the past two years.

Mari was honoured as a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (FPRII) in 2014 and is also the President of Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO) Ireland.

There are currently 31 member agencies in the PRCA as it enters its 30th Anniversary year. It is now a requirement that all members meet the Consultancy Management Standard (CMS) to qualify for membership and member agencies are undertaking the audit to renew their CMS this spring.
